My Final Project-Maria’s Semester
Here’s my final project! If you want to see the process in which I made it, go to the Week 13 summary and the Week 14 summary. The Week 14 summary is also where I reflect upon this class as a whole. This post’s just to reflect upon this specific project and have all of the references that I used, as not all of them were able to be added into StoryMap. If I combined the Weekly Summary and this reflection, it was be far too long! P.S. This is so long because of all of the citations. Everything else isn’t that long!
The basic premise of this project is that it took what I did in this class (the assignments I did, when, and in what order), and applied them to Maria. Where the assignments took place, like in Australia, she actually went, or somehow otherwise did something connected to the location. I tried to match up the dates and sequence, but in order for the story to make sense and be at least somewhat realistic, I did have to move things around.
Wow, I can’t believe this project is over! This was three weeks of work, and I feel like it shows. I completed 18 assignments, using 14 assignments from the assignment bank. It totaled up to 44 stars of individual assignments, not repeated, and 57 stars, if you count repeated assignments (i.e. if you count the three Ireland videos individually and the Romania and Croatia videos also separately). Basically, I did rather far more what I needed to or was planning to! I realized that would be the case at some point last week, but I wanted to make it the best I could, so I didn’t just want to have a lot of slides/places without media. I did 1-2 assignments a day (weekdays) and it added up!
I feel like this was a good culmination of this class, as I used numerous types of media. This project is very video-heavy. I like making videos, and for whatever reason I had to most ideas for videos, over anything else. I did three video assignments, two audio assignments, five design assignments, and four visual assignments, one of which I turned into a video. So, video wasn’t my most-used category, but I just did more than one video for two of the video assignments, so it added up.
This assignment also used employed numerous skills and tech I learned and practiced. I used Audacity for the audio and video assignments, so over this project I got more experienced with that. I also used the Microsoft Photos app, which I found I liked best out of the couple video makers I tried. I did try a new program (StoryMap) which I had never used before, so I continued my learning experience while making this! I previously created a Google map for an assignment, but I think StoryMap works better for telling stories!
Overall, I also accomplished my goal. I mentioned in the Week 13 summary, and showed a picture, of the excel I was building. Here’s the final spreadsheet I made, along with that slides that correspond to it. There were a few assignments that I wasn’t able to include, and some of the assignments got switched around chronologically, but overall I think I was quite successful!
If you haven’t already, take a look at my StoryMap. I hope you get some enjoyable out of it, just as I did making it!
Everything below this line are citations/references. While I thought it was important to include these things, as to avoid plagiarism or any issues with copyright, unless you want to glance at or read them, you don’t have to scroll down any farther.
Here are all of the citations for everything I made for this project. They are here in order of when whatever location I used them for shows up in the StoryMap, not when I created the assignments.
